1. 1.Watching this genre of film is what I enjoy best. I love all the suspense it creates and the feeling of what is going to happen next. Horror comes with many different things such as: Jump scares, isolation, creepy backgrounds and sounds, the final girl, a lot of dark backgrounds and minimal lighting, or even supernatural figures that have strictly been created from imagination. These experiences come from watching a variety of horror movies which include zombies, spirits or even clowns sometimes. Each of these have a similar ending where everything is resolved and the character in action is at peace.
2. A silent place is about a movie where the family is being haunted by creatures of sound and the mom has taken it upon herself to protect this family. Silence in this movie is very crucial and so how they react to such situations and their facial expressions play a very key part in this. It has a very dark background for most of the film but there are sudden shifts towards light which signal something dangerous is coming. A lot of different camera movements have been used where low cuts and high cut camera angles are proving danger and vulnerability.
3. In the movie, the kid Beau suffers death because of a toy he decided to take during a supply hunt while the sister Regan suffers guilt for showing him the batteries. Over the course of the next year the mother-Evelyn- becomes pregnant again and must deliver in absolute silence because of the creatures lurking outside. Creatures hear the baby crying and come after for which lee, the father, tells them he loves them and is sacrificing himself. The daughter in the end with her invention that she had built (an implant) lets out a screeching sound for which the creature feels pain and Evelyn ends up shooting it with her husband’s shotgun. Having this implant has proven to be a good way for them to prepare for the next set of creatures and move with the new baby.

I agree with your argument about how horror films follow a common pattern when talking about the plot, specifically with the ending or denouement, where there is a final resolution to the main challenge the ensemble of characters have to face, while maintaining a tense atmosphere during this terrifying journey. In terms of what elements the whole crew behind the scenes use to create this aura of terror, it is really interesting how they play with the sound as an ominous sign, as well as with the lighting provided to reveal or agitate the audience. Also, the use of this specific prop (the toy) to show the characters’ inner selves, in terms of their guilt and lack of reasoning, completes their personality and helps the audience understand the characters a bit more, in relation to their reasoning, their affection towards other members of the family, and their dynamics within their group.
