The Batman (2022) and Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

First paragraph
The opening paragraph will discuss a stereotypical superhero movie, Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). And compare it to The Batman (2022), a nontraditional superhero movie that flips the genre. Captain America has a very traditional story with classic themes like good vs evil, right vs wrong, and the hero overcoming great odds. On the other hand, The Batman dares to ask the question: Is the superhero really the good guy? The rest of the paragraph will describe the differences in heroism between Captain America and Batman and what makes Batman an unconventional superhero.

Second Paragraph
The following paragraph will briefly summarize the plot of The Batman and discuss the parallels between Batman and Riddler as costumed vigilantes fighting corruption.

Third Paragraph.
The third paragraph will apply a psychoanalytic view to The Batman, showing us that the traumatic events from Bruce Wayne’s childhood have deeply affected him and have shaped how he is today. Every action he makes, every criminal he stops, every person he saves, is all because of the dreadful night where a criminal shot and killed his parents. As an adult, Bruce is obsessed with his parents’ death, spending every night brutally beating every criminal he can find, convincing himself that he is saving Gotham. In reality, he is actually scaring the victims he intended to save. His obsession over his cause is proven when Batman argues to Alfred that what he is doing is his family’s legacy. Later on in the movie, it is revealed that Bruce Wayne’s parents had a dark past. This surprises him because he held the belief that his parents were good people. This creates internal conflict for Bruce, causing him to reconsider his motives as Batman after feeling betrayed by his parents.

Fourth paragraph
The fourth paragraph will discuss the role of the cinematography and mise en scene in the film. The first example I will use is the upside down shot of Batman walking up to the Penguin after the car chase. The next example I will discuss will be the various times that Batman tries to get into the Iceberg Lounge, using a different persona each time. The use of the character’s costumes says a lot about what his intentions are.

Fifth paragraph
The fifth paragraph will mention the red herrings and plot twists that are used as important plot devices and then I will follow with a conclusion, briefly recapping the previous points.

Your source is definitely applicable to your discussion on The Batman and I think you’ve done a good job of applying some of the theory and observations in the article. However, after an initial intro of Captain America there is no following discussion nor compare and contrast. To simplify things and make it easier to remember, comparing this version of Batman to an earlier more straightforwardly stereotypical Batman as superhero would be both easier to remember and be easier to describe the differences without introducing a whole new backstory, plot, etc. Just a thought since you have limited time to get through everything during the exam.
